Overview
A post-war idea, revisited
At the end of the Second World War, Piper built the PA-8 Skycycle, a small single-seat aircraft intended to show how simple and affordable personal flying could be. It never went into production.
Ernie Carlson recreated the Skycycle concept as a single-seat aircraft, completing the Carlson prototype in the mid-1990s. The project reflects the same interest in small, uncomplicated airplanes that runs through the Sparrow family.
The Skycycle is important primarily as part of Carlson Aircraft history. It is not currently offered as a kit.
